Plantar Fasciitis / Heel Spurs

Plantar_fasciitis1.jpg The plantar fascia is a very specific structure in the foot that stretches from the ball of your foot back to the heel bone (calcaneus).

When you stand up thus loading your foot and arch, the plantar fascia pulls forward on the heel bone. In response to this, the body responds by trying to lessen the pulling force by producing bone in the direction it is being pulled! Thus you may develop a heel spur.
